Charges filed against Frank Donio for threats made against Rich Jacobus (update 5/17)

At the Hammonton Chamber of Commerce awards Dinner held on 5/15, Frank Donio made threats against local "Letter to the Editor" writer, Richard Jacobus. Mr. Donio approached Rich and asked him if he remembered who he was. From there the conversation quickly turned to Mr. Jacobus's letters written to the local newspaper and the opinions therein. Mr. Jacobus calmly told Mr. Donio that he was just expressing his opinion and that he had every right to do so as this is America and we have the right to express our concerns. Mr. Donio's response was that Rich's opinion sxxks. So far everything is OK, but then things turned uglier. After more discussion, Mr. Donio then told Mr. Jacobus that "you better stop fxxking with my sons, I'll fxxk you up, and that's a threat."
Those who heard the conversation were shocked, especially when Mr. Donio added the part to make sure Mr. Jacobus understood that this was intended as a "threat."
Court date is set for 6/12 in Hammonton Municipal Court.

Update 5/17
Mr. Jacobus and the list of witnesses were notified today that due to a conflict the case was being moved to Buena Borough Municipal Court. No date was given.

I guess there are still some people who think their last name allows them to be "above the law".

This is an absolute disgrace.  It just goes to show that nothing is too low for the Hammonton First supporters.  It is disgusting.  I guess old man Donio lacks the ability to intelligently discuss a difference of opinion.  He should write a letter in the paper publicly apologizing for this outburst to Rich and to all of Hammonton.

Don't hold your breath for an apology. His boys didn't get their attitude they are above the rest of us from any stranger.    But we already knew he wasn't wrapped to tight either so this is no shock.   Stick to your guns Mr. Jacobus don't let him bully you like they have this town.

Gee, when the Chief made verbal threats on the Mayor's life, the Des thought it was okay. Seems they are following Hillary Clinton's lead and talking out of both sides of their mouth.

It's a real shame that you can't see the difference between a direct threat and the using of an example to help make a point.

Those charges were proven to be exagerated and false.  It was RC and the mayor who were "threatening" the chief by putting political pressure on him.  The party is over for HF and they know it.  Must we have another Donio attack a senior before Firsters realize what is causing their party's downfall.

That case was already heard and the charges found to have be unsubstantiated. Now we'll see how this one plays out. At least there are witnesses to this one.

It is amazing the depths some of the Democrats are sinking to. I guess when you lose year afte year and have as weak a ticket as they do this year it gets frustrating. They are unfortunately lashing out and throwing temper tantrums. Maybe someday when they dump Falcone they will turn things around.

What you see as temper tantrums, the majority of the people of Hammonton see as the one party who is finally willing to stand up and fight for the majority in Hammonton.

Are you saying that when Mr Donio threatens your life, you should just say Thank you very much Mr. Donio. It's about time someone stood up to that huge bully. He's already got a rap sheet, now he can add another page to it.

Even his own son wrote an article in his newspaper on how his father beat his wife. This bully never learns. He gets what he deserves.

Looks like the Judge tossed this case. It was a joke right from the beginning.

There's no truth to that rumor at all. The case has been moved to mediation. If the two sides can n ot come together on mutually agreed terms of mediation, then the case will move on to trial. Only time will tell.

More Bull$hit from the Hammonton First Masters of propaganda and misinformation!

The Hammonton First party is still hanging on to this bogus issue long after the politically motivated charges against the Police Chief were found to be false by a judge during an extensive court hearing.

The Judge made it clear in his ruling in favor of the Police Chief that it was all just nonsense.
