Radiology center with 40 workers to close By KRISTI FUNDERBURK Staff Writer
VINELAND -- Eastlantic Diagnostic Institute will close next month when its chief radiologist transfers to Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton to work full time, according to a news release from the company.
About 40 people are employed at the facility, according to company spokespeople.
Cory Crawford, customer service coordinator, said Eastlantic announced the closure to employees Monday afternoon. Crawford didn't want to comment on more than the release, but called Eastlantic's closing "an unfortunate situation."
Eastlantic Diagnostic will officially shut its doors on Nov. 14, according to the release.
Eastlantic's Dr. Ralph Dauito became chief of radiology at Kessler last October, and, for a year, worked at both locations. But recently Kessler officials asked Dauito to devote more time to the Hammonton hospital's diagnostic imaging needs, the release said.
The Institute, part of Garden State MRI Corporation, has operated in its South Main Road facility for five years and was founded in 1988, said Brian Sacco, director of marketing for JMR Marketing Corporation of Millville, who issued the release Monday afternoon.
The release states, "On behalf of everyone at Eastlantic Diagnostic Institute and Dr. Dauito, we would like to thank everyone for their support over the last several years and are looking forward to continuing to meet all your diagnostic needs."
Sacco said Dauito plans to take a portion of Eastlantic's roughly 40 employees with him to Kessler. The release also encouraged patients to seek further service with Dauito at Kessler.
"The level of patient care and quality service you will receive at Kessler will continue at the level you have come to expect at our Vineland facility, as some of our qualified team will journey with us," Sacco wrote in the release.
All patient files will remain in the Vineland office until Dec. 31, the release said. Then the files will be transferred to the offices at Kessler.
Great news. Thanks for the Democrats for keeping Hammontonians who really care about Kessler and AREN'T afraid to ask the needed questions informed. You won't see this on the Republican or Hammonton First websites.
