The Hammonton Taxpayers are saying. "Three strikes and you're out!"
In 2005 they told you the new Town Hall would be built for $5.9 million, but that went way over budget. STRIKE ONE
In 2007 they told you "no new taxes", but your tax bill went up. STRIKE TWO
Two weeks ago they told you that the debt went down and the surplus went up, but Democratic candidate Jim Mac Lane showed you proof that before they took office the debt was $12 million and it is now approaching $20 million, and the surplus dropped $1 million in just the last year. STRIKE THREE
the whole above post is a lie. plain and simple. there is no truth that the town hall cost anything. I went to town hall and they don't know what it cost. So then until proven other town hall cost 5.9. the tax rate went unchanged no if or buts about it. the towns auditor says in a public meeting that the debt went down. jim mac says it went up . this is the same jimmie boy that gave you the highest school tax increase and the no bid board contracts. so I say again prove it or move it. Every year this time all the bs starts but no proof. the facts are the facts HF got things done and lowered our debt without a new taxes. I know my tax bill went down. lead on HF
The post is not a lie. Jim Mac Lane showed charts with the actual numbers for the town debt and surplus and he stated that he got the information by looking through the official town audits.
In a council session a couple of months ago, Bertino had information for the costs of the town hall and it was at $6.3 million then. The only reason we don't know any other numbers yet is because King John yelled at the town employees for giving Jim the informatuion and told them not to release any more information until after the election.
Our taxes did go up this year. Just look at your tax bill, they went up 1/2 cent on the tax rate. Plus we now have to pay for our own service and removal of trees by the curb, additional costs mean additional taxes. Just think what it might have been if they were able to get away with stopping trash, bulky and leaf pickup like they wanted too.
To the HF follower: Let get this straight...because no one knows how much the Town Hall costs, we are to assume that it cost 5.9 million. Are you kidding me? That just tells me that no one is exercising financial oversight over the project. One more reason to support the Democrats.
did you write a check for taxes ? yes. was it for more , less or the same as last year ? the same. this equal taxes stable. that's all they said. i live in hammonton and have not noticed any reduction in services. Three years ago i went through that whole shade tree process only to be told NO! So i cut my tree down anyway. Lastly who would you put your trust in , the Mayor who has a proven track record or jimmie mac? Jim's tract record on school board speaks for itself. I guess if jim mac wins the the two mikes can get there no bid jobs back. I for one know that if he wins taxes will go striaght up just like they did when he ran the school. but hey the town's employees will be happy. For the good of the town vote hf.
Well, HF Follower: I would suggest reading your tax bill. You will see that the taxes for the school went down half a cent while the taxes for the town went up. So thank the school board where HF is in a huge minority.
Let's see trust the Mayor. The Mayor who presented false information in his chats. The mayor who says the Town Hall is 5.9 million because he does not include upcoming bills. The Mayor who has been deliquent on his water and sewer bills. The Mayor who focuses town efforts on the downtown where he owns property. The Mayor who appointed his brother to the planning board and his biggest contributor to be the down-town advocate! You would think with a lawyer on the ticket they could figure out all these conflicts-of-interest.
Jim MacLane brought a project on time and on budget. Remember the High School was approved by the voters prior to Jim being on the board. When the state cut off funding, Jim minimized the impact on taxpayers.

No one in Town Hall dare go against Hammonton First. Remember the trumped up charges and the lawsuits that resulted because of the poor morale and treatment of town employees. No town employee will answer the question because of vendettas. Jim MacLane showed undesputable facts of the true costs. You can't very well trust Hammonton First with figures since they themselves mess up on their sending in their campaign finance reports.

SO you admit that you violated the law by taking down a tree illegally. So therefore you don't mind it if your town council does things illegally or hurtful to the future of our town's future. My street doesn't get swept anymore. I know have to take care of a 2 trees that the town forced on me. I'm still waiting for the dip on my road to be fixed.

Don't you understand that Jim MacLane has explained many times that it wasn't his fault the taxes skyrocketed when he was School Board Finance Chairperson? It was other Democrats fault. MacLane is never to blame. He explained that even though the school borrowed more money during him time on the board that at any other time in the town's history, it wasn't his fault taxes went up. It was the tooth fairy's fault.
OK Grape st. needs to be repaved. I for one as a young kid enjoyed the dip ,but now I agree it should be paved. Jim Mac will put a luttle money away each year and then repave your road. Hmmmmm? it should be done about 2020. LOL
Actually, if you read the platform, you would see that the fund is to maintain roads not necessarily completely resurface them. The fund also could be used so that the Town need not borrow along with grants or could begin projects immediately while waiting for grants to come through. The Hammonton Dems Plan will speed up road improvement.
