County Democrats hold cash edge over GOP, Sam Mento has great support

Today's Atlantic City Press

The latest state reports show the Atlantic County Democratic Committee with more than $40,000 - about $39,000 more than the Atlantic County Republican Committee.

The results of the reports filed with the state Election Law Enforcement Commission, or ELEC, for the period including April, May and June mirror the last mandatory filings for individual candidates.

The 20-day, post-primary ELEC reports showed Democratic freeholder candidates Angelo DeMaio, John Devlin and Sam Mento with more than $74,000 in their campaign coffers.

The reports show the three Republican candidates - incumbents James Curcio and Frank Giordano and newcomer Frank Formica - with more than $32,000. Democrats contend that figure should be reduced by $7,000, which is the amount of a loan Formica took out for his campaign.

Individual candidates aren't required to file their next reports until Oct. 5, or 29 days before the November general election.

According to the ELEC reports, the Democratic committee has, after expenses, $40,472.01

The organization benefited significantly from organized labor, which contributed more than $32,000 to the organization during the three-month period. The Democratic committee took in slightly more than $84,000 for the reporting period.

The Atlantic County Republican Party has, after expenses, a net worth of $1,348.44, according to the ELEC reports.

The reports show that the committee's larges contribution - $10,000 - came from Friend of Dennis Levinson. Levinson is Atlantic County's executive.

The Republican committee garnered $15,538.53 for the reporting period.

The next mandated reports for the two committees will cover July, August and September.

Mento is trying to buy an election?  Every person has a vote regardles of how much money you have.  Just because Corzine money is laundered through him does not mean he will win.

Oh, so it's OK for Hammonton First to spend over $100,000 on a municipal election but when an opponent does it now you think they are trying to buy an election. Sam is getting his money from a wide variety of supporters including the unions who represent the hard working people of Atlantic County. Hammonton First gets most of it's money from one family in Hammonton...who is getting bought here?????

Mento has three times the money over Curcio because people want to support a winner.  Jimmy's double pension and, tax and spend policies are coming to an end.
His do nothing approach to representation has Jimmy in a bind.  He has lost a lot of supporters.
Mento's donations have come mostly from Hammonton residents.  Hammonton, the crown jewel of the fifth district will put Sam Mento over the top in November.

Looks like the smart money is going to Sam Mento.

First poster. You try to link Mento's fundraising sucess to Corzine.  Look up his elect report it is coming from local residents in small amounts.  People have had enough of the professional politicians and are supporting a working class farmer and carpenter.  Jimmy is a OK guy but, fifteen years is too long.  What has he done for Hammonton and district five?

Curcio does do something for District 5 and Hammonton, every year just before the election he visits all of the picnics and eats a hot dog with a few people.

We need good local representatives.  Look at who the Republicans had represent Hammonton- VAN PELT.  There's a reason why more and more people have left the local regular Republican party.

Not only does Mento have three time the money of the invisible man but, he is totally out working him.  When he gets elected he will not take a pension Jimmy takes three!  Vote for Sam Mento twice the work for half the cost.

Mento will win and the local Dems will also win. Joe Ingemi and Sam Mento are the right individuals to take the town and county to the next level.
Who is running for the Reps locally? Did they all drop out? Why was Torrissi wearing a HF shirt Sunday?
I guess the local Reps realized there President is not supporting them, and they dropped out.

Looks like Rich Jacobus and Joe Ingemi are leading the negative campaign parade this week with two letters in the paper.  Lately, the two of them have put in at least one letter to the edtor in the paper almost every week.

It seems they intend to keep writing negative letters every week thru the election in November.  I wonder how many people they are turning off with all this negativity.

Looks like their letters are drawing your attention more.  They dare say what others are afraid to out of fear of vendettas or simply because they are not MAN enough to step up to speak for ALL the people of Hammonton.

The Democrats will tax and spend Hammonton to death, just like they've done in Trenton and Washngton.  You won't see Joe Ingemi guaranteeing no tax increase like HF has already done for four years in a row.

I will never forget when he showed up  (all planned) at the council meeting a few years back and attacked Falcone. Like a  rabid dog.  And the major sat there and let it happen with a big smile on his face. I am so glad for channel 9 because you just can't make stuff like this up.  Neither of them had enough class to be ashamed. What an embarrassment to the community.

I wonder if Joe Ingemi will guarantee a zero tax increase as HF is doing.  Does Ingemi want to raise taxes?  HF has already done had no tax increases four years in a row.

You can see his meltdown on U tube.  Curcio the invisible man sure made a memorable explosion that night.  He is why people outside of town think Hammonton is a nasty town.  Sam Mento has a positive message and has been going door to door throughout the fifth district.  The mentos candies are clever and poeple are angered by jimmy's do nothing approach and double dipping into the tax payers pension fund.

Reagan was great.  But even the great communicator would have a tough time defending the Atlantic County Republicans tax and spend policies.  The compassionate conservative wouldn't defend Curcio's do nothing approach and DOUBLE DIPPING into the tax payer pension fund.  Remember no more "two martini lunches." Lets send a message in the name of Reagan no double dipping politicians.  Vote for a real fiscalconservative and bussiness owner. Sam Mento!  He won't take a pension.  Vote for mento twice the visiblity for half the price.

Wow I cant believe Curcio voted to give his brother in law tax payer money for Atlantic Care. Why didnt jimmy help KESSLER. Because his brother in law runs Atlantic care and he wanted him to take our Hospital for nothing. Talk about another conflict of interest Jimmy votes to give more of his family taxpayer money.
His is the political hack whoes sole purpose is to line his families pockets with tax payer money. The invisible man appeared again to give his brother in law Don Parker CEO of Atlantic care money. Why didnt he help kessler and the 500 local jobs? Oh that is right no one in his family worked there.
