HF-Controlled Council disproves their own theory....

The HF-controlled council always believed that poor planning is like wine_it will get better with age.  They thought if they filibustered and procrastinated and kept quiet long enough, either the public would forget about the issue or the issue will work itself out.

Well, one more chicken is coming home to roost: the Sewer Infiltration facility on Boyer avenue.  A little background_for several years now, the infiltration facility has not been function and has been releasing pollutants into the Hammonton Creek.  The Town is under Court order to fix this problem.  It seemed that rather than fix the problem, at every council meeting for the past four years, we were waiting for another report, another decision, another waiver, "we'll get grants", etc, etc, etc

Finally, the optimization report came.  Of course, the report was secret.  When asked in Octber about the costs of whatever solutions may have been recommended, then-Councilman Wuillerman said that they were being reviewed.  But he also said one solution the Town had already adopted set the standard for the state.

That was then, this is now.  Here is what is on the Town Council's Agenda for this month:

Optimization Report ~

On February 1, 2010, the response to the October 6, 2009 submission of the Optimization Report was provided by Ed Wengrowski of the Pinelands Commission.  A preliminary meeting was held with Hammonton Representatives to formulate a response to the correspondence.  Generally speaking, the response agreed with the proposal set forth by the Town.  We will be discussing implementation and the associated costs of certain measures that will be attempted in addition to the current loading and drip irrigation trial.

            Lee Rain Trial Application ~

As reported last month, some difficulties were experienced with the monitoring devices installed by Lee Rain.  As a result, the trial has not been consistently operative.  Additionally, the extreme wet conditions over the last two months have also been a prohibiting factor.  We have reached out to Lee Rain to identify a definitive schedule so that this important trial procedure can be implemented.

What this says:
-We now have a potential solution based on the report and there are cost involved but the Town Council never says what the soluton is or how much will it cost!!!!!
-Our ground breaking standard setting previous solution is having problems.

HF's secrecy and delays did not improve the situation as time went on...it got worse and we pay the price in the form of pollution and money.  The Mayor needs to get his house in order.

Gee I thought Hammonton First cared so much about the environment. Gee now we find out they are polluting our environment. Gee first they said they couldn't build town hall on 11th street because of contamination which by the way didn't exist. So they built town hall on vine street where the property was contaminated and never cleaned up. I guess that's why they had to hurry and put a building on it before they had to pay for the clean up. Doesn't anyone remember the gas station on vine st? That property sat vacant for years because no one wanted to pay to clean it up - now it's a parking lot how convenient. They don't care about the town Hammonton First only has one goal to make themselves and their supporters more money. That's why everything they do is half-assed, falling apart and not following proper procedures cause they don' give a **** and the people in this town are too dumb to know the difference! I'm sure if bin Laden offered someone 100 bucks to blow themselves up they would do it.
