Ah, the Gazette, the offical paper of the Town of Hammonton. Only in Hammonton would the Town Council select as its official paper, the only newspaper in th area that is not part of the NJ Press association (http://www.njpa.org/njpa/)
But even the Gazette can get one right. And I fully agreed with the editorial in last week's paper about the need for fiscal reform in NJ. Chris Christie is doing the right thing as painful as it is and both myself and the Gazette agree on that point.
But is the Gazette in a position to make such points. The paper said:
Its just that the majority of us the people who arent receiving the salaries, raises, pensions, and health benefits that the government workers are, but are paying for it with higher and higher taxes believe that the taxpayer-funded government is no longer treating the taxpayer fairly.
After all, the Gazett receives payment from the Town to run its advertisements. So the Gazette is receiving taxpayer dollars. Check out our bill payments. http://www.townofhammonton.org/2009minutes.html
So is the Gazette sincere about what it is saying or is this more of a case of do as I say and not as I do?

They always lie....they make stuff up on those they dislike and won't do what they want...they never tell the true about anything....spin spin spin...it will all come out in the wash...the day they tell the truth it will snow in August.....they pick on everyone....i don't buy that rag since my dog is now potty trained.
Notice how the Gazette writes about all the great things that Hammonton First is doing. That paper is all about HF. It seems really strange that Hammonton First keeps honoring Lions club members as their citizens of the month. They must want something from the Lions Club. Maybe all their members will be doing a fund raiser for HF or maybe they want them to run on their ticket? What's their motive?
There has only been 1 Lions club member to my recollection. And for the record, he has been a great volunteer for this town, he deserves more than this award.

Isn't February's citizen of the month also a Lion's Club member?
This entire Stockton project is very unclear. The real reason will never be made public because it's not about education. It's true HF talks out of both sides of their mouths. The school(taxpayers) will pay for teachers to get a higher education so that they can make more money - Right? Does the town pay for the employees to get a higher education so they can make more money - Don't think so! Teachers are compensated based on the level of their college degrees. Town workers are not compensated on the level of their college degrees. So... does HF support higher education or not? Since the Gazette is against gov't workers receiving a salary, benefits and pensions is he also against teachers who get the same? If he is against teachers then is he against higher education too? Do they support higher education or not? What is the story here?
The Donio rag is really not a newspaper. the green committe should ask them to halt production of it because its a waste of paper. Funny they didn't say anything about those change orders or the hiring of a lobbist. If they think the lobbist can change federal regulations they are kidding themselves. There is money that the town could take advantage of every year, but they have choosen not to. They love to pay for consultants and lobbists. They are sooooooo lazy, before the other council people and mayor found grants on their own. they are flat out lazy.

The Hammonton Lions Club yearly recognizes a Citizen of the Year. HF then stole the idea and decided to hold Citizen of the Month Awards. The fact that they recognize Lions just shows that the Lions Club and its members are very active in the community. The Lions Club is not political. I know of only one active Lions club member that is in HF. At a Lions Club meeting, you'll see Republicans and Democrats sitting on the same table.
