According to the Hammonton News article Town Solicitor, Brian Howell said "Hammonton has the financial capacity to fund the proposed project from their own resources." If this is the case then why do we need to spend more money for a lobbyist? They just spend money like water because it's not their's. According to the news the cost will be $60,000.
When we have so many town employees who make a 6 figure salaries why not have them work for their money and let them apply for the grants, we never needed a lobbyist before why now. I think it's amazing how school administrators get paid 6 figures and they have doctorate degrees yet the town employees who make 6 figures have no college degree. How can our mayor and council justify these out of control salaries and then hire more people to do the jobs they should be doing????

Check the salary of the town clerk over $100,000.00 check the salary of the chief of police over $100,000.00 check the salary of the police captain over $100,000.00 check the salary of the lieutenants over $100,000.00 check the salary of the town solicitor over $100,000.00. Check the salary of the assistant town clerk over $75,000.00 check the salary of the assistant town clerk's husband over $65,000.0. Just to let you know these figures are base salaries and do not include health care benefits or buy outs, pensions, or overtime etc. If you think I'm lying then go to town hall and get a list of salaries and benefits that all the employees receive. A few years ago the Gazette printed the salaries of all the employees I wonder why they aren't do it now?????? Kinda makes ya wonder!

Asst. Town clerk and husband are not 6 figures. But you do have a valid point. It is kinda hard to take money away from people but they can stop all increases by having a salary cap (they might already have on) with no raises (they might have that too already). Then they would only get COL increase. I also know from many years in the corporate world that benefits are the first thing to go. Absolutely. If they have full benefits with no employee contribution and 100% employer paid, then that has to stop. No one does that anymore. Believe me they will save a ton of money.
