Here is an interesting fact...

Galloway paid $112,000 in legal services (solicitor and expenses) in 2008.  We paid $100K.

So a town that is several times the size of Hammonton is only paying 10% more in legal expenses.

Why are these numbers so disproportionate?

Is our solicitor working 24/7 to rack up this type of billing?  Is HF just more prone to getting themselves into legal predicaments?  Or does membership in club HF have its privileges?

In 2006 Mayor and Council gave Brian Howell a $10,000 a year raise and increased his hourly rate too. I'm sure they increase it every year they just don't tell us about it. What does he do for that kind of money? I thought he had his own law practice too. Where does he find the time to do both? Doesn't the town also have a labor attorney that deals with the contracts? I guess it pays to suck up to HF because when you do you will be rolling in cash. Oh not their cash it's the taxpayers hard earned money they are paying in taxes.

Notice how HF won't comment on the raise they gave Brian Howell? I guess they are guilty. They may try and say the usual no new taxes, increased surplus, reduced debt. It's hilarious they sound like a broken record. Explain all the money our solicitor is making 6 figures a year that's crazy. Why doesn't he volunteer his time like everyone else? I thought all this projects were funded by grant money at no cost to the taxpayers so why are we paying the solicitor with our tax dollars?

Not only does he receive a huge salary from the town, I'm sure he gets health benefits and a pension too! So much for our Republican Governor's reform!

The kicker is that he serves as the HF Corporations lawyer.  Are we paying him to be OUR solicitor or their lawyer?

Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest to do that?
