They don't even have a Green Committee...

The Gazette has reported the BOE is looking at installing solar panels. http://www.hammontongazette.com/Weekly%20file/news3.html

It is nice to see one of our elected government boards trying to find projects that are good for the environment and cuts costs.  The HF Town Council talks a good game on things like this but in the end they do projects like the Lake Park where they cut down trees and go over budget.  Bad for the environment and the taxpayer.

Please stop with "extra costly" projects at the school system that are going to "save" money...........let's re-focus on the basic reading, math, science and technology skills our kids need in today's world.

This is as opposed to "extra costly" projects like the Canoe Club or Stockton.  Actually, there are many programs for organizations like the school or town to utilize where AC Electric will basically build the solar power system in exchange for the energy credits. The school would have their electricity paid for.

So, AC Electric assumes the cost in exchane for the energy credits (which have value) and the school saves on its power bill.

Again, nice try to accusing the school board of something that the Town is actually guilty of.

These kind of projects actually free up money to be used for basic reading, math, science and technology skills our kids need in today's world.

I think everyone would agree that as long as their is a positive return on investment, even if small, it is worth it just from an ecological perspective.

If the return is larger, then it is even better as it can help with being able to reallocate some of the electric budget into the classroom.

WTF? You are just jealous because the school board without Steve can manage their money very efficiently but the town can't HA HA! The school has been cut off by the state and they are not furloughing or laying off? Explain that  A hole? At least they are trying to save money unlike the town!! Oh and let me ask you HF how is Stockton going to help our students, help the taxpayers or help our town - it's not! If you weren't so jealous of the school Stockton would hold their classes in the public high school since no one will enroll for classes anyway!! HA you're a fool!

When is HF going to butcher more trees at our lake park and leave the dead trees that pose a hazard along our roadways? Gee I wonder if Councilman Barberio wants to continue with the destruction he started since the bills are mounting. Maybe he will take over the mistake at the airport - sorry it doesn't rhyme.
