We seem to be getting a lot of press for Hammonton lately. Mostly bad. In the Friday, 3/9 Philadelphis Inquirer an article appeared called, "From asbestos to Klan, a town drama." Click here to read article.

Are we all feeling proud of our town right now?    I hope Hammonton First is happy we were just made out to sound like a bunch of no class/no brained/back wood fools.

Only eight more months and I'm voting all dems.    Get them out of there!!!!!

I was just told by a reliable source that the reason no one can buy a copy of the Philadelphia Inquirer in town is because several members of Hammonton First ran all around Hammonton this morning buying every copy in each store. Guess they're embarassed, as well they should be.

HAMMONTON ONLY TOWN IN NEW JERSEY WITH ZERO PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
Permalink

The reality is that for most of us, taxes are the main issue. For year, constant tax increases were the norm. Now, we will be the only town in New Jersey with no tax increase for 2007. Let the Democrats keep begging for the KKK to come so they can make a stink. Who cares about one fat loser who can't even hold a job at Wawa pumping gas? The reality is that our property taxes won't be going up and our school will have more funding for education thanks to charging Waterford properly.

No Tax Increase

Boy, you said it. Taxes are what afftects us the most and I'll vote for whoever an have a zero tax increase. For years all we heard was the town and school needed more and more money. Now we see how these HF guys had no town increase and kept taxes down at the school last year. Now the word is we have no increase at all this year. This is exactly what we need.

We don't know if we have no tax increase for 2007 yet, town budget still being worked on.
As for begging for the KKK to come to town, there was only one party who caused this to happen. Hammonton First Councilman Rock Colasurdo brought the KKK to town and refuses to apologize, which will end this whole ordeal. He made an absurd accusation and now the whole town will have to pay for his actions.
HF had nothing to do with keeping the school taxes down. It was obvious to everyone that the previous BA was not doing her job and not charging Waterford properly. The school didn't need the FOC'ers to tell them that. And now the board has worked very hard with the county superintendents to recoup that money. The other piece of the puzzle is that the state finally admitted that our district was hurt more than most other districts over the last 5 years and gave us more money than most of the districts in NJ. Most districts received a 3% increase while we received a 10.7% increase. That is what we have been saying for 5 years and now the state has admitted to it being true.
Just another day of HF claiming credit were credit is NOT due!!!!

That is so disgraceful for HF to take credit for what others have done right and try to pin blame on others for things HF has done wrong.  Diaz, Glorioso and Santone campaigned hard and were just as upset about the KKK situation.  They even refused to speak to the Gazette when they literally tried to "pin it" on the Democratic candidates and campaign manager.  It's HF who brought in the KKK and since they created this mess only they can fix it.  I guess having Hammonton be a launching platform for the KKK isn't a problem.  Did you recall what RC said. He said he didn't say anything against the KKK but then in turn admits that he did in the chief case.  He when asked by the KKK at a council meeting.  RC opened his big mouth with the statement that even if he made a statement that he wouldn't apologize. He should have just made no comment or just deny the statement and not stir the KKK even more. RC was the one who made the ridiculous charge in the 1st place and further agitated the guy.  I hope the KKK doesn't come to Hammonton. If they do, I know who to blame solely. HF.

This is absolutely true. HF is showing they can keep our taxes down. They have continually put their plans in writing. In spit opf all the bashing sayng otherwise, Hamonton will enjoy no tax increase for the first time in years. For the Democrats to compete, they need to stop bashing and put together a firm budget that shows how they can keep taxes down.

The State of New Jersey's property taxes are rising faster than anywhere else in the country. If these HF people can stop that, they have my vote. The political parties need to get that message and cut their spending. Enough is enough.

Support the Hammonton School Budget

This year's school plan is the highly successful result of the Mayor's turn around plan. For years, no one discussed the importance of charging the correct amount untill HF brought it up. With the new Business Administrator, who was hired by new School Finance Commitee Chaiperson Steve DIDonato, the school is now executing on the HF plan and things are moving along great. We need to all go out and vote YES for this plan!

Not true! The Business Administrator previous to Mrs. Motz was charging the proper amount and things were fair to all districts. After he left, the proper adjustments that come every October were never made which put us in the position we found ourselves in. The Mayor had nothing to do with this turn around. The problem was identified by the school board and corrected along with an increase in aid from the state. We all need to go out and support this budget, but let's give credit where credit is due. Congratulations to the Hammonton Board of Education and the administrators.

The Democratic team of Diaz, Glorioso, and Santone, was the only party to actually have a plan to keep Hammonton's taxes low.

Republicans promised a tax cut, but had no plan.

Hammonton First promised no tax raise, but they cut everything from police to fire, to street sweeping, the whole nine yards.

The Democrats were the only ones to talk about bringing in more revenue to support the same services this town has come to know and love.

Shoulda Voted Democrat!!!

The Mayor's budget really looks good for all the hard working taxpayers. No tax increase at the school and now no tax increase at te town. When was the last time that happened in Hammonton?

The HF corporation needs to stop hiring unqualified family members on projects. They need to stop giving free water and sewer work to those who own properties downtown who just happen to be their largest contributors.

You can ignore the facts all you want and keep flying your HF banner. Sing your own praises all you want. The fact remains that the posters raise good and valid points and questions. But then we all know your point of view on that too, unless everyone bows down and accepts all of the HF actions without question, you consider them bashers. The lat time I checked Hammonton was still in America and as Americans we are free to question things we think are wrong. I know that bothers you but it is the way things are, even in the country of Hammonton.

Hammonton News and Gazette Editorials Agree: Things are going well in Hammonton!

Both papers editorials this week recognized just how efficently the taxpayer's money is being handled and recognized things are going well.  This is a very positive step as so many people are moving forward, united behind the Mayor's leadership.

I judge a person's leadership on how well he can work with all parties, how they maintain or increase employee morale, and how he he can handle personal issues with employees. So far all I've seen is less services, lower morale and trumped up charges against a police officer, less money for our volunteer fire department, a highway department that has always worked hard for us being appreciated but riduculed and pressured.  If that's what you call leadership, I can't wait til 2009 and we'll see how ALL Hammontonians feel about his leadership in the best poll their is election day.

I really don’t think the following is an efficient use of taxpayer money:

  • This ridiculous trial involving the chief.  How much money is this costing us?
  • Wasting police man power and resources to investigate the Klan for planting asbestos.  Get real.  The Mayor and Rock knew it was there the whole time.  They even approved a change order to get rid of it.
  • We will undoubtedly have to pay police overtime when the Klan gets here in May.  If Rock would just be a man and apologize, we could save taxpayer money.
  • Lying about the cost of a new town hall.  We will be millions over budget or have a real crap hole as a town hall.  Either way this will cost additional taxpayer money to either do the job right or pay for numerous repairs later down the road.
  • Mishandling grant money by trying to use it to move that eyesore of a building at Veterans Park.  We can risk losing that grant money out of the ignorance and arrogance of the Firsters.
  • Using tax money to give the downtown business free water and sewer lines.  If any other taxpayer needed a water or sewer line from the curb to our house, we would pay out the ass.  But the Hammonton First supporters are getting it for free at the expense of the working class taxpayer.
This is just to name a few.

Shoulda Voted Democrat!
