Campaign season starts early in Hammonton this year.

We are not used to seeing local political signs go up in Hammonton until Labor Day. This year is different. With 4 people vieing for the 3 seats available for the Republican nomination for Town Council, at least one of the candidates has started placing yard signs around town.

DiMatteo said that the candidates will campaign together.
Theyll be out there talking to the people. Theyll talk as a team, not as individuals, said DiMatteo.

I guess Torrissi didn't hear that part.

Did MacLane ever figure out how much the school cost to build?

I've answered that countless number of times, you haven't listened yet. It has been proven time and time again it was on time and on budget. Stop bringing it up, that subject is closed. Future posts on this subject will be deleted.

Torrissi is obviously not a team player.  Don't get fooled again.  Vote for the Democrats!

I heard a that there was a big uproar over these signs going up.  Now it looks like everyman for himself for the Republicans.  So much for working as a team.  It looks like as expected from the other month that it's going to get ugly.

Vote for Pajic-Ricca-Berenato.  They are the real Republicans.  Torrissi is a Fister.  He's Curcio's cousin.

real republican's?  how long have ricca and bernato been reps?  are they even eligable to vote in the primary? (comment deleted), so i think the fighting started way before the kid put his signs out.  I have known torrissi a long time and it would be great for our town to have him on council.

Another moronic thread.  Where's the fighting, beyond Gabe's editorial praying there will be figting and calling on Hammonton First to play spoiler to the primary.

For once a party holds a real primary and all the lot of you can do is piss and moan.  I don't know what is worse: reading the Gazette's poison soaked editorial pages or the thick-headed bufoonery in these replies right here.

At least Torrissi has a pulse..... it's refreshing to see a GOP canidate besides Bertino that wants to work.

Let's hope that Torrissi doesn't take his pointers from Curcio & Co and he should be fine.

I think Jimmy Curcio made a good choice when he got his cousin, Mike Torrissi, in the race. They both work well with Hammonton First. That' much better than the other 3.

HE WILL DO LIKE HIS COUSIN, JIMMY CURCIO, AND WORK WITH HAMMONTON FIRST FOR THE PEOPLE NOT THE POLITICS.

This is right. Also, how long has Ripa been a Democrat? It hasn't been that long that she threw that little boy with special needs out of the Lake Park on Independence Day. She's not even a Democrat.

Vote for Torrissi! He will work with Hammonton First to help the town.

The incident you mention never happened. Noone was thrown out of the park.

What a lie! Ripa even wrote a long, nasty Letter to the Editor to try to say she was right to throw little Tyler out of the park!

I believe the letter stated the reasons why she asked them to stop selling a product that was already being sold by another vendor, she never asked them to leave. When they applied for a space at the event they were told that only one vendor could sell each item and a vendor was already selling what they wanted to sell. They were certainly welcome at the event as long as they sold something else. They chose not to follow the rules and were asked to sell something else.

Why would Robin Ripa want to stop a special needs child from doing charity fundraising?  And why did she write such a nasty letter to the editor afterwards.  Couldn't the Democrats find their own candidates without taking a Republican reject?

There was no nasty letter afterward. It was a letter stating her side of the story. She did NOT want to stop ANYONE from doing charity fundraising. The point is, everyone was asked to follow certain rules. They were told before the event that the item they wanted to sell was already being sold by someone else, so they needed to pick another item or method for their fundraising. They chose to ignore the rules and were then reminded. That is all that happened, but it was blown out of proportion by the Hammonton First sympathizers on council. Robin was only the chair of this event. It was a committee of people who set the ground rules.

What does this subject have to do with campaign signs going up early anyway?

I think the Democrats want to pretend this didn't happen.

No, the Democrats want the truth to be represented. That is what we have been standing up for in our Town. Not the misinformation that seems to run around Town.

If the Democrats wanted the truth, they'd be looking into this situation with Ripa.

Torrissi seems like a nice guy.  I sure hope he doesn't switch to HF if he loses the primary.  What good is it voting Republican if they can't sit down and work things out to select the 3 best candidates.  The priority should be to defeat HF not to continue to have infighting within the Republican party.

I think Torrissi is far and away the best the Republicans have to offer.  Look what a great job Jimmy Curcio does.  He realizes the rest of his party is made up of some pretty limited people.

HF is about the politics not the people.  I hope Torrissi doesn't stray from core Republican values and switch to HF if elected like Jeanine Lewis did.  I didn't know he was Jimmy's cousin. That's not good in my book.

I am so mad that we couldn't come to terms and select just 3 candidates for the primary.  This name calling is disgraceful.  I bet Firsters are just loving this.
