I guess that Hammonton First and those FOCER'S will take credit for this, they are a joke. Did you hear the new song where are the Focer's now? The extra funding is great, let's hope it helps those in need.

In the New Jersey budget for this year, the Hammonton School District will receive additional funding to help bring it up to the minimum amount determined neccessary to educate it's students. The State has once again recognized that it has not lived up to its responsiblility in providing aid to our school district. This in a small way makes up for some of the funding that our district lost over the last 5 years. This is also the second time this year that Hammonton has received additional funding from the State. This funding should allow Hammonton to restore some services and programs that have been lost and do some preventive maintenance to keep our buildings in good shape. This should all convert to overall tax savings for the citizens of Hammonton.

It ceratinly is great to see that with new funding from the State as well as Waterford paying it's fair share that the school will be in great shape.  Things are getting fixed and all of this without extra property taxes.  Hammonton is becoming the finest town in South Jersey!

The School will have no tax increase and is getting extra funding for a lot more new teachers and to fix the building problems with the new high school. The Town has had no tax increases two years in a row and we have a remodeled Historic Town Hall at Veterns' Park, we have new sidewalks, we have new roads and a new Town Hall going up. Things are certainly moving in the right direction in Hammonton.

Who cares if there is a new Town Hall or not?  What's that do for me, Joe Resident?  I get to look at new drywall when I pay my taxes?  New sidewalks are nice, but they look really gray and old already?  Why is that?  Also, I feel bad for the Veterans that they stuck that old building in the middle of their War memorial.  But yeah, I guess things are going well if you work in Town Hall or the old Town Hall.

What is in it for you? No tax increases at both the Town and School. More teachers at the school. New projects in Town. Stop being another Rich Jacobus complaining about everything all day. Look around and realize that Hammonton is a great place to live.

New projects in town?  What, they're building tenaments now?  Oh my.

By the way, big shot...  Hammonton is a great place to live because so many large families live here and can be close together.  It's not because of your precious new town hall or some new dollar store.

Good point. It is amazing how Rich Jacobus' Letters seem to always try to focus on the most negative view of things. I guess he must really hate Hammonton. He should probably move someplace else so he'll be happy.

Have you ever read a letter to the editor? Most of them are about something negative and most of them are written by people who love Hammonton and want to see a situation corrected.

I don't think anyone in the history of Hammonton has ever written letters to the editor as frequently as Rich Jacobus. It's a regular stream and Hammonton-bashing. If the guy hates Hammonton so much, he'd be better off leaving. Right now, he hurts the Democrats he claims to want to help. Who needs all that nasty commentary? The Democrats should stay away from Jacobus.

Then what you're saying is residents in Hammonton SHOULD NOT criticize the government.  Right?

How dare this Rich Jacobus  question authority!  The authority that has blessed this great town with a new Town Hall and sidewalks. The townspeople should bow down and praise the hollowed ground that Hammonton royalty walk on.

HAMMONTON RAISE YOUR GLASSES IN UNITY!  WE HAVE A NEW TOWN HALL COMING.  WE SHALL ONCE AGAIN STAND HIGH ATOP THE MOUNTAIN OF MEDIOCRITY WITH OUR GREAT DRYWALL AND STUCCO BUILDING OF THE FUTURE!

ATLANTIC COUNTY REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE
Release Date: October 25, 2006
Republican Hdqs. 677-0707

Atlantic County Republican chairman Keith A. Davis today called on Democrat Freeholder Alisa Cooper to stand by her professed opposition to political patronage in government by recommending that Freeholder candidate Anthony Falcone withdraw his candidacy because he secured his state job through political pressure.

Cooper leveled her accusations of patronage in county government earlier this year but was unable to produce a shred of evidence that it existed Davis said. Falcone, on the other hand, was publicly identified by the Democrat state administration for which he worked as someone whose employment was secured through pressure exerted by the office of former Gov. McGreevey --- a textbook case of the kind of patronage Cooper says she finds so offensive.

Davis said that in May of 2005, former Department of Corrections Commissioner Devon Brown told the Assembly Budget Committee that he was forced to accept 14 individuals as department employees because of pressure brought on him by the Governors office.

Brown publicly identified Falcone was one of the gang of 14, Davis said. At the time, Falcone was director of the Division of Community Programs at a salary of nearly $90,000 per year.

In her comments, Cooper said that patronage appointments should be identified and let the chips fall where they may, Davis said. Well, the chips have fallen and they have fallen on Falcone. What say you now, Alisa?

Its time for Cooper to stand up for what she said she believed in and call for Falcones withdrawal from the race Davis said. Anything less is hypocrisy of the worst kind.

The chairman pointed out that Falcones patronage appointment was not revealed as part of any partisan agenda, but, in fact, came directly from the Democrat Administration of which he was a part. Davis added that Falcone receives some $90,000 a year in state salary; $7,500 per year as a councilman in Hammonton, and is seeking a seat on the Board of Freeholders which pays $20,000 a year.

Falcone wants to triple dip and get three taxpayer paychecks totaling over $117,000 a year, Davis said.

When are you going to give up? You keep posting the lies put out by the Atlantic County Republicans last year. These accusations were fully reviewed by a Senate committee and were found to have NO basis in fact. Anthony is fully qualified for his position and has worked very hard over many years to get to were he is today. The Republicans were proven WRONG. The person who alleged that Anthony was not qualified has since been proven to have had a political agenda, all of his accusations against Anthony are proven to be wrong, and that person was no longer works in NJ. Anthony is still in his job and his bosses successor is very happy with the job Anthony does.
Anthony is the type of person who works hard to take care of his family and is exactly the type of person we need on Town Council. You are proving my point because by just reposting the same lies you have proved that they are false. If there was any truth you would present it but you can't so you keep throwing darts.
Why not raise the level of this campaign to issues, rather than baseless bashing of our candidates. The Democrats are discussing the issues and asking the tough questions. You are calling names and hiding behind your mother's skirt.

The Dems have no chance of finishing ahead of Pajic. That's why they are attacking him.

The Democrats have said absolutely nothing about Mike Pajic. The Democrats are not bringing personalities into the campaign. It is the other camp that is attacking our candidates on a personal level. The Democrats are discussing issues.

The Democrats do not believe that Mike Pajic is behind this negative campaigning!

I don't know why people see the obvious that it is not Democrats or Republicans attacking each other. It's Firsters posting comments against the candidates. I think all Republican and Democratic candidates know who really is behind these attacks but they are being civil about it just like the last election.

The Hammonton News had a nice editorial this week about how great things are going in town.  All the free grant money which is coming in to fix sidewalks, repair roads, move the old town hall, etc, is really great.  Things are looking nicer every day.

The downtown area is looking great and it's nice to see that it was done using the grant money from the State.  There are a lot of nice projects being done in Hammonton which don't require local property taxes.  I wonder why this sort of thing never seemed to get done before?

You mean why didn't this happen before Jimmy Bertino went out and got all the grants for these projects?  Yes, Jimmy Bertino got the money for the sidewalks.  Jimmy and the Republicans got the money for the roads.  Jimmy and the Republicans got the money that HF stole to fix up historic Town Hall.

Let's be honest here young man:  The only money Hammonton First ever got was the latest Main Street grant.  AND GUESS WHAT!  THEY DIDN'T EVEN APPLY FOR IT.  Mayor and Council had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MAIN STREET GRANT.

Remember last year when Hammonton First falsely took credit for the fire department grants that volunteer fireman applied for and got?  It was funny watching all three Hammonton First candidates lose after pissing off every volunteer and professional group in town.

There's one thing I'm sure about now.  Hammonton First could squeeze blood from a stone and turn it into a nice Merlot, and they still wouldn't win another election.  It's over, Johnny.

Boy, no lie in the above comment. All you get from HF is personal attacks and lies, they have had nothing to do with all the grants, or the fixing of the school. Remember if it's good they did it, if it's bad in their small mind it becomes a personal attack. Does anyone know why the benches downtown now face thier empty stores? Why don't they place the trash cans upside down too..........the are a joke.

How come the sidewalk on one side of the street look so different than the other side of the street?  Just wondering.

Speaking of grants, years ago Hammonton received some big state funding for Main Street.  Is there a list of things Main Street did with the money?  I'm told most of it went to John Woods salary.  Is this true?

That's where most of this new grant will go, if you read it's for a study. And yes most of the money goes for his salary, all he does is walk around looking important, but he still hasn't figured it out he's just a puppet for you know who.Can someone please tell me why the benches are the WRONG way? God help us if we wanted to see a parade, the benches go the wrong way. And why do "they" only want certain people forced off of "their " main street? So many questions so much for open government....ha ha ha

If the Republicans and Democrats did such great jobs, why weren't the sidewalks ever done before?  Why wasn't the town hall ever built before?

Take a look at this campaign add from when Falcone, Amirratto and MacLane ran in 2004:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N44RwSarl5g.

Before Hammonton First even existed, the Democrats in 2004 complained why roads were getting fixed and why the town hall wasn't done.

Now, Hammonton First came in and did the work.

Why did the Republicans say it was impossible to use Federal Government grant money to fix up the historic town hall?  They wanted to stop the job.  When the Federal Government was asked, they thought it was a good idea and gave Hammonton the grant money.

It's time to face facts.  Republicans and Democrats did nothing for years.  Now they are scared to death because somebody else came in, rolled up their sleeves and did work.

The school is even fixed.  We will have more teachers and no tax increase.

How did Hammonton Frist fix the school? What grants did Hammonton First get? the answer to both questions is they did nothing, but to help themselves with free sewer lines and new sidewalks at our expense. Hey by the way where's my new free sewer line? and hey could you give me some free sidewalks? In fact why don't you fix your side walks in front of your home? could it be because you have to pay for it yourself? I know it's hard for you to think, but many good people did many great things for our town long before you tried to become the "Boss" some of us have our own thoughts, we don't want to be our grandfather.

Because Colasurdo and Jim Donio REFUSED to sign waivers for their properties on Bellevue Ave.  You can't do the sidewalks until all the waivers were signed.

There wouldn't be any way of you knowing this unless of course you were one of those two individuals.

Falcone won in 2004. He did absolutely nothing for the next two years. Hammonton First didn't exist then.

Hammonton Me First did exist for the second half of his term. And for both years, Anthony was put in tough situations because of the way the HF and Reps do committee assignments by politics. He was only given one committee assignment and The rest of council voted the way their party leaders told them to. That's why we need balanced representation on council, so that all points of view are presented. 7 Republicans doesn't work.

Why are we patting anyone on the back yet.  Town Hall isn't done yet.  So far I'm very concerned that it will not be the building we were promised and that it will cost more than expected.  With the asbestos problem and digging in the wrong spot, I'm worried about the finished product.  Plus how much are we going to spend to buy HF properties for parking downtown? Whether it'll be taxpayer money or grant money, I smell a set up by HF.

Today, MyHammonton.com has announced that the County has decided to give the town $2M do get the Central Avenue road paving job done. The County was supposed to pave the road but apparently Denny Levinson has decided that Hammonton can get the job done more quickly by letting Town Council pave the road.

It\'s a smart move by Denny Levinson as he needs to get the road done for his re-election campaign. He knows that Town Council will get the job done to make him look good.

Many are still asking the same questions.  If the Town Hall was built at 11th street, it would have been finished already but with all the asbestos scandal and the disruption of possible delays with doing work on current site it will take longer and eventually cost more.  This time the questions being asked is not why it isn't being done but why isn't it being done right?

I think that it's great that the school stated last night that they will finish the year with a $750,000.00 surplus. It should be added , no thanks to Hammonton First, although they will want to take credit for it because it's positive. The Board has worked very hard to turn things around and should be thanked.I think it's great news for all of Hammonton.

The $750K money comes from the $1.2M the town was able to give the school to help them thru there problem.  Now that the School is charging Waterford correctly and recieving that new money, they have the money to pay the town back.  The money goes back into surplus, no school taxes are raised, and education is expanded.

The $2.1M deficit from the previous School Board still needs to be handled.  This $750K will reduce that number.

THAT DEFICIT DID NOT COME FROM THE PREVIOUS SCHOOL BOARD.

It's my understanding that the town is being repaid, so what did the town have to do with the board not spending the entire budget??? NOTHING, you just like to spin lies.Don't worry the entire town has figured you out.A bad dream.

OK, so where exactly did the $2.1M deficit come from?  The current board already explained that inherited these issues.

The defecit came from the state not giving it's fair share to Hammonton.  You should be very well aware that Abbott Districts get the bulk of the state money.  Hammonton and many other small school districts get shorted of state monies that they are entitled to.

If the Republicans and Democrats did such great jobs, why weren\'t the sidewalks ever done before?  Why wasn\'t the town hall ever built before?

Take a look at this campaign add from when Falcone, Amirratto and MacLane ran in 2004:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N44RwSarl5g.

It's a good thing we don't have any Democrats on Council. The Republicans at the County level wouldn't have given Hammonton the money. Levinson wants results.

That's your opinion. Denny is a smart man and we get along fine with him. He wouldn't hold back money from the people of Atlantic County for political reasons, he knows how much that would hurt him. He wants us all to work together for the betterment of Atlantic County and that is just what he would do. That's what Hammonton First campaigned on, can they say they lived up to their promise?

It's nice to see the Admin admitted that Republican Denny Levinson is a smart man and doing a great job for Atlantic County. I think the Democrats realize they have a few real losers running for office who don't deserve to be elected.

Yeah, that's what i said???? So you need to take a positive thing I said about someone from another party and turn it into your nonstop bashing. Do you really think the people of Hammonton want that type of person representing them on council, someone who takes every situation and finds someway to make it negative and tear down people with it?
Keep your negative campaigning going. We are talking issues and you obviously can't, so you trash our candidates. You are our best campaign tool ever because people can see right through you.
AMMIRATO, FALCONE AND RIPA for Hammonton Town Council.

See that's what the Democrats are about:  They are not afraid to speak up for the people and point out what's wrong.  They are also not afraid to give credit where it is due and not afraid to give kudos to another parties ideas if it is good for Hammonton.  The losers have been the taxpayers of Hammonton especially the last 2 years.  I commend all who are willing to serve the people of Hammonton and run for Council.  Even if I don't agree with them or personally like them, I would never resort to calling any candidate a loser.  This time we won't get fooled again.

I'm glad we got rid of the old Board.  Now that the Mayor got involved, he's worked very closely with the school's finance chairman and things are really moving forward for Hammonton with no tax increase at the school and new teachers.

Come on now.  You don't like the new board either.  I'm sure you had lots of nice things to say about the board when Norton and Juan were running.

Again I am tired about rich homeowners complaining about taxes. Democrats will raise the taxes to give regular working people who rent more services like you see from when I lived in Philadelphia.

Hey Boss
yes they got free sewer and water pipes. be mad at jimmy b , everyone says he got the grant.  hf did not change the scope of the project.  So the reps thought it was a good idea to give all the store owners free curbs , sidwalks and water and sewer lines.  Remember its good for hammonton.  That's what it is all about.  HF just got the job done.  Great for them!  now what about the school the fact is that if HF did not get involved taxes would have gone up .!
