Unless we're going to secede from the county, why would we walk away from the county? Welcome to Hammonton County. Sounds like HF don't want to deal with people they have no control over. Instead of dialogue, they are just walking away. What good can come about from this?
This organization must have really been important in the past. It taught previous government agencies how to do the following:
1. Not be able to start the downtown sidewalk project for 8 years. 2. Not be able to start the new town hall for 7 years. 3. Bring in Plymouth Place to town. 4. Raise taxes. 5. Build a school and overspend.
I guess we really want the mayor to learn the above things, right?
How can our town make sound municipal policies if we stick our head in the sand and not see what other communities are doing right or wrong. I wasn't aware we're no longer paying taxes to Atlantic County. I guess we have taxation without representation. The mayor no longer wants to represent Hammonton in the Atlantic County Mayor's Association. This is a key organization for a mayor to address personally issues affecting a municipality.

Our murder rate went up and our biggest growth market is dollar stores, liquor stores, and Mexican businesses.

The Mayor's Association had nothing to do with these issues, as a matter of fact it probably could have helped in getting things done quicker. The Mayor's Association is not a sole answer to our problems, but it can be a very valuable asset in looking for different solutions and ideas. It is also a place where our voice can become louder by joining with the other municipalities when needed. It is ridiculous to turn our back on this organization because of the Mayor's opinion.
I also heard that the Mayor wanted us to drop out of the League of Municipalities, but, thankfully, Jimmy Bertino would not drop that issue and we have paid our dues to stay in that.

RE: Hammonton Quits the Atlantic County Mayor's Association
Speaking of cheap campaign stunts, maybe she was too busy handing out useless moth traps. Why can't Robin just participate like everyone else.....who is making a parade political? It was a nice day for all .............. stop with making a parade political.
If it is true that the Republican candidates, who are not council members, did walk in the parade then it is they who made the parade political by not including the rest of the candidates, both Democrat and Hammonton First. And it is only your opinion that the traps are useless, we have posted plenty of information showing that they are usefull. And why do you think doing something positive for the residents of Hammonton is a campaign stunt? Sure we hope people vote for us, but we did something positive about the gypsy moth crisis. We used some campaign funds to help Hammonton rather than buy pens, pencils, paper pads, etc, that just get thrown away.

HELLO, which candidates were marching in the parade, if it were just current councilmen that's fine but it was made political when candidates walk hand in hand. It was a political stunt. Why must all our town events be politicized?

The Republican candidates disgraced themselves and nsulted our fine soldiers. Torissi, Pajic and Berenato walked at the front of the parade and forced the National Guard to follow them. They didn't even invite the Democrats. This is the last straw. I won't get fooled again!
The Town Clerk of Hammonton has informed the Atlantic County Mayor's Association that Hammonton will not pay this year's dues and is dropping out of this organization. The Secretary announced that this is the first time, to her knowledge, that any municipality has ever dropped out. She also stated that it was reported that Hammonton has dropped out of some other Municipal Associations also. Mayor DiDonato has not returned repeated calls by the association and some of the member Mayor's. Last year Mayor DiDonato attended 2 of the 10 meetings held and this year has not attended any of the 5 meetings held so far. This group is a valuable resource to any municipality for many reasons. There are many similar problems and challenges faced in the Atlantic County area and this group provided a forum to exchange ideas and solutions for fellow members. The group also works together to bring needed attention from Trenton to Atlantic County as this group has a bigger "voice" than does one Mayor. They can have an effect on legislation, whether it be to introduce needed legislation, delete uneccessary laws, or promote changes to better some laws. A large voice also can help in attracting aid from the Trenton legislators. It is also cost effective to do these types of things as a group and share the expenses. An issue facing this group and the Town of Hammonton now is the re-evaluation that was recently conducted in Atlantic City. The City is now suing it's Division of Taxation to change the rate being paid by Atlantic City. If they are successful in this suit, the remaining Towns in Atlantic County would have to pay more taxes to the County. In Hammonton's case it would mean an additional $342,305.62 going to the County. This would raise every Hammonton taxpayer's bill by 4 cents per $100 of assessment. This certainly seems like a matter we should be involved with, but we are not since we have quit the Association. The Hammonton Democrats believe we need to be a part of this organization. Hammonton is not a Country of it's own and can not isolate itself from the rest of the world. We would request all the citizens of Hammonton to become vocal on this issue. Attend Council meetings, write letters to the Editor, and call the Mayor and Council members to make your voice heard.

You're kidding me, they walked in front of the soldiers. In every parade the protocol is veterans march first, then elected officials. AT NO POINT DO CANDIDATES MARCH.

What the Republicans did at the parade was an embarrassment to all of Hammonton. They are losers. MacLane is right for speaking out against these clowns. Don't get fooled again!
Let's get things straight. I did not speak out about this issue. The only comment I made is when someone made a comment about making this political. Many people have made comments about the actions of the Republicans, but I am not one of them. I did not witness the parade, I was waiting for my sister to arrive from California for a visit and therefore could not attend.
OK how did our murder rate go up . Everyone says we need more places for the regular people so hence . dollar stores. and what's wrong with mexicans. you must be racist.

Democrats won't speak out. The are oo busy throwing their own candidates unde the bus. They don't care about our troops. It's a shame.
How dare you! Our troops are risking their lives for your freedom and right to free speech and this is how you choos to use it, to constantly spread lies and to enact your vendettas against other people? We support our troops and the principals they fight for.
AMMIRATO, FALCONE, AND RIPA for Hammonton Town Council!!!!!!!!!!!

What the Republicans did was awful. Pajic, Torrissi, and Berenato are losers. The Democrats shouldn't support them.
As a lifelong Democrat, I am voting for Torrissi, Pajic and Berenato because they will beat Hammonton First. We will be much better off when Hammonton First is a bad memory but I am happy that town hall is being built at Central & Vine Streets.
when is town hall going to be completed? where will i park? i also would like a $525 tree at this location to provide shade for people when they sit on the backwards bench.

The Democrats have no chance at all to win. They aren't even campaigning to get votes from the Republicans. The Democrats will be lucky to get 500 votes. In the coming elections, it will get harder and harder for them to even get a ticket together. Just look how weak ths ticket is. Hammonton is a Republican town. Without swinging some Republican votes over to their side, the Democrats will always lose. This is just the reality of the situation. Democrats can't win without swinging over votes from the Republicans.
The Democrats had 7 people interested in running for council. The Republicans only had 4. The Democrats were able to work together to select 3 to run. The Republicans could not work together to select 3. The strongest ticket is the Democratic ticket. The reason HF spawned was because people have been tired of being fooled. They were fooled again because of HF who were no much better. This time Hammonton is voting Democrat. I haven't seen much of anyone speaking out against HF in the Republican party. If anything, there's a good chance one of the Republican candidates if elected will switch to HF.

I'm sure no one will be surprised to find out that the person that posted the above statement is NOT a Democrat. I will not reveal their identity but I think you can tell what party they are with by the people supported in the statement.

The Dems have no chance to win. The Rep candidates are working hard. Their candidates lead the parade this week. In a normal year, the Dems have a hard time since Hammoton is a Republican town. This year, with a Dem candidate suing town employees, they have no chance.
There are a lot more Republicans than Democrats in Hammonton. For the Democrats to win, they have to swing a lot of Rep voters over to them. It is really an impossible task, which is why council was 7-0 Republican up until 2006. It's been decades since the Democrats had a majority on council.
Most of the people in this Town realize that Robin is standing up for the average person against the illegal acts of the present government. They realize they wouldn't want their mother or sister or wife treated that way and they are glad she has enough guts to fight back. The only way the average person can fight back is to file suit. Hammonton realizes the only other choice she had was to look the other way and allow these illegal acts to go on and they don't want someone who would not do the right thing on council. That is why Robin is receiving overwhelming support from all of Hammonton.

That has already happenned for this year. There is already a split in the Republican party and because of that, everyone knows that in order to put Hammonton 1st away for good we all have to back one party. That party is the Democrats.

Just in the diner the other night, all three Republican candidates were with Turk Curcio, Ralph Morano, and Anthony Ingemi. The Republicans are united and will easily whip the Democrats. The Dems don't really have any way to beat the Reps for the three seats.

It's just simple counting of votes. The R's have voters. The D's are making no effort to attract them away from the R's. This election is already over.
Keep telling yourself that. If you say it enough times, even you will believe it. Remember, we do appeal to a lot of R's, but also remember that the single largest voting block in Hammonton are the I's. We are only targeting one group, the Hammonton voter. The Hammonton voter will cast their ballot for the most qualified individuals with the best plan. Over the next few months the Hammonton voters will see our plan and realize it is the best paln for them.

The Republicans really messed up this week with Vitalo's terrible fireworks display and the Republican candidates trying to make the National Guard Parade a campaign rally. They will lose votes to the Democrats for this.
There should always be open lines of communication between municipalities. We breathe the same air and drink the same water. How can the mayor address the problems that affect our town with mayor's of nearby towns if he doesn't communicate or associate with them. Just take the Tuckhoe Turf Tragedy, don't you think Winslow Twp. residents are concerned as well with the toxic biosolid fumes in the air affecting its residents. This also has a great environmental impact on other communities on the watershed.

Winslow Twp is in Camden County not Atlantic. We should join the Camden County Mayors Ass.

There will be many towns in ATLANTIC COUNTY that will be upsed if Hammonton continues to let Tuckahoe Turf Farm potentially pollute
In a Post 9-11 world, you'd think that our Mayor should keep all lines of communication with local municipalities especially those in our county. We have a hospital, an airport, a rescue squad, 2 fire departments and local police. We have these things from learning and sharing ideas from others.
No wonder Mayor DiDonato dropped out of the Atlantic County Mayor's Association, he didn't want real Mayor's to see how stupid he is.
Teflon John has way to big of an ego to be involved with the Atlantic County Mayor's Association. He would only be a little fish in a big pond and it would not offer him the spotlight that he needs to be grandstanding on every issue.

hammonton does not need to be part of the Atlantic County Mayor's Association, according to silver spoon john and his hf handlers
