Wildwood Cop can stay on city commission

Commissioner Gary S. DeMarzo, who is also a city police officer, can keep his jobs, a judge has ruled.
The judge ruled that DeMarzo does not have to resign as a police officer, but he found DeMarzo must not vote on issues related to the Police Department, the citys employee contracts and other issues likely to present a conflict.

Click here to read full story from the Press of Atlantic City.

While this case is similar to Robin Ripa's situation, there are still marked differences in that she is not a police officer, but a clerk typist. Therefore the list of conflict items is even smaller. Robin is prepared to take whatever steps are neccessary in order to fufill her term as council person in Hammonton.

The Wildwood copy had to take a leave of absence without pay or benefits in order to keep the council seat.

Yes, but the key fact is that he can serve on Council.  Someone kept on mentioning about the Wildwood case in hopes that the outcome would be used to derail Robin's chance to run.  There was someone  who repeatedly posted that Robin can't run and had to drop out while many on this site repeatedly said that Robin Ripa is running on council to serve and she would take whatever steps need to be followed to fufill her term.  Go Robin Ripa, we need some like her to run on council.  She's someone who is very well known for her fine dedicated service to the community. She's also one that greatly appreciates those who served our country.  My father, a Navy Petty Officer just loves Veteran's Day and Memorial Day in Hammonton.  Robin does a great job for our town but it seems apparent that there are some "dark forces" who want to spread misinformation about her.

There is no way Robin Ripa has any chance of winning the election.

That's your opinion, and you have every right to express your opinion. But you are only one of many. Robin has a large number of supporters and they will carry her to victory in November.

REP - James Bertino 2,268 17.91%
REP - Anthony Marino 1,668 13.18%
REP - Jerry C. Vitalo Jr 1,525 12.05%
DEM - Jose Diaz 1,000 7.90%
DEM - Ralph P. Glorioso 894 7.06%
DEM - Thomas Santone 967 7.64%
Bill Crescenzo 1,512 11.94%
Jeanne Sparacino Lewis 1,408 11.12%
Sam Rodio 1,410 11.14%

The difference between the top Democrat and 3rd place was 525 votes.  I would hope that the Hammonton First numbers go down at least by 50%.  The Democrats have 3 very strong candidates this year.  I can't imagine HF getting 1000 votes each.

I didn( realize how poorly the Democrats did last year. I guess they hae no chance, especially with candidates who've already lost in the past multiple times.

The only party who has no chance is Hammonton First.
The ignorance and arrogance of the Hammonton First Party will end in November, thank God!

Just look at Petrognolo...she has got to be the rudest, ignorant, and most arrogant person I met, next to Ed W!!!

The Dems are really the only party with any sensible candidates!!!

Yes. They will try to stop all projects and let things rot.

Jimmy Bertino has gotten pretty good at doing nothing.  He never seems to get anything at all done.

What little if any credit goes to the HF inter-circle of power and influence for the current work here in town is questionable but this work will not be  the legacy that they will be remembered by after they are gone from power.

Could you imagine how much less can get done if Mike Pajic and Donny Berenato are elected?  Those guys won't get anything done!

Imagine how much better off the town will be when the few remaining D-boys' puppets on council are removed from power and Prince John will be forced to learn how to play well with others.   Then good things will get done.  No more tax dollars being wasted on town projects with poor planning!

The real proof in the pudding is that the Town has had no tax increases while all these great projects are getting done.  The do-nothing Republicans can say what they want, they accomplished nothing all the years they had 7-0 on council.

Yes the real proof is in the pudding - the HF mayor and council puppets have had no problem spending whatever tax dollars they want on pet projects while town public safety departments have had their budgets cut deeply below the 2005 year budget funding.  No problem wasting tax money on over priced trees for downtown - thank you very much HF!

And don't forget that the building going up is just a shell.  There is no accounting for furniture and other basic office needs.  I guess that funding will come out of some other budget and to hide the buildings true cost from the public.  Thank you again HF, the masters of mis-information.

HF will do the same thing with purchasing the furniture as they did with buying the downtown trees from a friend of a Firster.  They'll just do as they please just as long as their immediate friends are happy.

Right now people are asking the Republicans why they couldn't get anything done all those years and they don't have a good answer.  So all they can do is bash and make things up.

How about that almighty Councilman Ed W. , does anyone remember last year when he berated the Fire Chief during a Town Council meeting because only one vendor bid on the Fire Dept specialized safety equipment.  The Town's cost was only about $6,000.00 on that purchase since it was funded primarily by a granted that the Fire Dept applied for and received.

Well I guess if you are the almighty ED W. and now you want to buy a simple new $39,000.00 pickup truck for the Water Dept. one bid is all that you need.  Not a word was said about it during the recent Town Council when the purchase contract was awarded with a single bid from a local car dealer.   You mean to tell the public that the Town of Hammonton could only manage to get one dealer to bid on a pickup truck!!!  You want to ask yourself what was so special about the local car dealer that they alone submitted the only bid for this $39,000.00 Water Dept. pickup truck.

Remember rules only apply to common people not the powerful and almighty Hammonton First Mayor and Council.  Thanks again HF

Republican Club President Frank DiMatteo explained on TV that although the Republicans had been planning to remodel the Lake Park for 5 years, they had done nothing.  Vote for Pajic and Berenato for more doing nothing!

I'm sick and tired of the Torrissi camp and HF bashing Pajic and Berenato.  Pajic is way better than Torrissi and Berenato is a good man.  We should never have had this 4 way primary.
