Did you know that the officials of the Town of Hammonton can not access the Town owned website? We can't even put emergency information on our own website without calling Blackwood, NJ and talking to the only individual who has access to our site. And if he is unavailable, nothing can be posted. Our town employees used to post pertinent information on the website whenever needed, like the agendas for upcoming Town meetings, but now it can only be done by MediaFX in Blackwood. This is the same company who runs the Hammonton First website, and the IP addresses are the same which means both sites are on the same server. We have all of the capabilities needed to support the website at Town level, but for some reason we are paying Comcast for their services at the Town hall and paying MediaFX for duplicate server space at his location.
This needs to change. NO political party should be controlling the Town website. The Town should be able to access the website whenever needed, especially in emergency situations to post neccessary information for the residents of our town.
We also need to finish the website and get rid of the screens we see all over the website, like the one pictured below.
I to have heard this before and I couldn't agree more that it needs to be changed. Our Town employees a very talented IT Person who not only collects a salary to do these things but donates plenty of his personal time too. Hammonton First and cohorts are wasting our money once again and wasting valuable technology that could be an asset to every member of our town. November! November! November!

With today's technology, each department can control their own section of the website with an IT administrator ensuring the website is functioning. Information can be updated easily and on the spot especially in emergencies. Many towns in New Jersey can update their website instantly. Some towns even collect property taxes online.
I'm starting to realize the Republican's aren't the way to go either. Time for real change in this town.
