NJ releases school report cards

The State of New Jersey, Department of Education has released the School Report Cards for the 2006-07 school year. To see the report for the Hammonton School District Click here and select one of our 4 schools.
It is interesting to note that once again the cost per student went down for our district. The State average of per pupil spending is $13,701 while Hammonton's District average is just $9,267. The State average dropped 0.2% from 2005-06 to 2006-07 while Hammonton dropped 7%.
Other notes of interest:
Median Administrative salaries went up from $87,140 to $92,974, however we are still well below the State average of $108,431.

Median Teachers salaries went up from $43,184 to $47,881 well below the State average of $55,550.

Our class sizes are above the State average.

Our participation in Advanced Placement courses is 13.74% compared to the State average of 16.2%.

Our test scores are gennarally above the State average.

It seems we provide a pretty good education in Hammonton while spending much less than the State average.

In March the State will release the Comparative report that will compare us to like districts and the State as a whole and rank us in many categories.

Be sure to click on the link above and look over this report for yourself.

thank god for Hammonton First.  I was told Mayor Johnny personally tutored every disadvantaged student and moved them up to the honor roll, without raising taxes!

Is it true that John Didonato also makes blind people see and older people young again? We need more Didonato's appointed to positions in the school district so our scores can rise even higher.

It certainly looks like there have been a lot of improvements at the school over the past two years.

Thank god Hammonton First had zero power there. They lost every candidate they ran for School Council. So long Costa!

Good job the rest of hammonton!

The School's finances have really improved. That is another committee doing well for Hammonton.

I guess Finance Chaiman Steve DiDonato the Business Adminstrator Barbara Prettyman are doing a pretty good job over there. We don't hear about having to send Waterford millions of our tax dollars anymore. They use that money for our kids.

The mayor is looking to evict all those disadvantaged students with all the current push with government intruding into property owners and tenants rights.

One small problem, the HF people don't want Costa to win either. But here is a question.... who is nuttier? Jerry Vitalo or Tommy Costa?

It really is amazing how nice things all over town have gotten in the last two years. And no tax increases! It's all good!
