Freedom of Speech is a cherished liberty embedded in our First Amendment. It is the obligation of every candidate and official to not just protect this right but also to promote it. However, we also must encourage citizens to exercise this right with discretion.
Therefore, on behalf of Hammonton Democratic Promise of the Future Campaign, we ask those who choose to post on this blog to do so wisely. The purpose of this blog is to promote a serious debate on the issues. Critique of candidates, officials and parties based on their policies and decisions is expected and encouraged. However, personal attacks are both mean-spirited and childish.
It does not matter whether someone is a Democrat, Independent, Republican or Firster. They are still a member of this community and worthy of our dignity and respect. When the campaign is over, we will all still be neighbors.
It is in this spirit that the Hammonton Democratic Candidates plan to conduct our campaign. We hope that the other six candidates and their supporters join us in this pledge. Hammonton deserves no less.
I agree with you the debate should be civil and I enjoy posting on your blog. That being said, I am not a fan of Frank Lautenberg (I know Rob Andrews), and I feel Jim McGEttigan is not up to the job of sheriff in Atlantic County. I feel that 90% of the current law enforcement thinks McGettigan is a poor sheriff.
Munoz collected close to 4000 votes in the democratic primary while being off the party line. Jim McGettigan lost alot of credibility last year when he did not know what the sheriff's department budget was under his leadership. He said it was around 3 million when it is actually closer to 12 million. Is that competent? The county budget is close to 170 million and he wanted to take Dennis Levinson's job and run the county.
What are the 3 parties going to do to lower the price of gas in Hammonton? $4.10 a gallon is ridiculous, why is Al & Rich charging an extra 10 cents for using a credit card?
This extra charge for credit card use is going to make me look for another gas station.

Vote for Change in 2009 or else you'll get more years of the same thing.
