New round of bids for Senior Center bring same results

At the October council meeting the results of the bids for the Senior Center at the lake were announced. They were as follows:

JTS Custom Bldg         $  989,450.00                       $42,000.00
Joseph Porretta          $  862,500.00                       $13,500.00
Martell Construction    $1,067,000.00                      $64,000.00
I&J Builders                $1,225,432.50                      $40,000.00


These bids were rejected and the Town advertised for new bids, in part hoping that the new bids would be lower.
In the agenda for the upcoming November 24th meeting the new bid results are listed as follows:

The second round of bids actually raised the price by over $33,000.00.
This is the building that was supposed to cost $400,000.
We will have to wait and see what action council will take on Monday night.
