3M Sign Grant Program, a tax saving program

Here is another money saving opportunity that our town should try and take advantage of to save the taxpayers money.

3M Traffic Safety Systems is launching the 3M Sign Grant Program, a new program designed to significantly reduce road sign replacement costs to local and state governments to meet the latest federal retroreflectivity standards set by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to improve traffic safety. The 3M Sign Grant Program begins January 5, 2009 and will run through November 30, 2009.

Government agencies are able to apply for onetime grants to receive significant cost savings to upgrade road signs to meet and exceed the FHWA Minimum Levels of Retroreflectivity. Finalized in January 2008, the FHWA standards require state and local agencies to assess their road signs and develop a replacement plan for non-compliant signs within four years. Non-compliant warning and regulatory signs must be replaced within seven years, and guide and street name signs within 10 years.

"Our goal with the 3M Sign Grant Program is to encourage agencies to start the planning process now to meet the new standards and to begin replacing underperforming signs," said Tom McGlynn, highway safety business director, 3M Traffic Safety Systems. "We'll work alongside agencies to improve traffic sign brightness and visibility to help meet and exceed the elevated safety standards."

The Hammonton Democrats hope that our government will look into this program. Maybe we can use this program to make our town safer and to replace the numerous missing street name signs throughout our town.
Whatever we use it for, the Hammonton Democrats are committed to working with our current government to find ways to improve the quality of life in Hammonton and to save the taxpayers from increased costs.

If you think Corzine is making the wrong choices for NJ and if you think Obama is wasting billions of our dollars on pork barrel projects; the Republican Club is an option.  Conservative minded Democrats are welcome to join us.  From Chris Christie to Jim Curcio we have the team.

Jim Curcio is a joke. He is Hammonton First all the way. He supported their ticket last year. That's why the poster says Christie to Curcio the hell with the local republicans. Thats' the truth see if Curcio even puts a republican sign on his own front yard.

Curcio will never ever tell people to vote for the Republican council candidates since he's aligned with Hammonton First.  We'll see if he's willing to say anything in the papers (BOTH papers) that he strongly supports the Republican Party from Christie to the 3 Republican Town Council Candidates.  Better yet he should put his name above the Town Council Candidates signs to show his allegiance and support to Republican principles.

Don't hold your breath!!! Curcio doesn't care about the Republican principles.Curcio doesn't care about Hammonton. Curcio cares about Curcio. He won't stand up for the Republicans because he might offend a Firster. Votes are more important to him than principles.

Curcio has always supported the best person for the position, not whoever the Republican threw up on the ballot.

HF are Republicans, how do you think we win.  That is why the only Dem on our ticket lost last year.  HF will be supporting Christie also this year along with other Republicans but never Democrats!  I had a McCain sign on my lawn, Corzine must go and Curcio and LoBiondo will always get my vote no matter what party I am with.  If Jeanne and Barberio move back to the Republican club now that the leadership has changed i am with them.

This single statement says a lot about the members of Hammonton First. While I realize this one statement does not reflect the views of all of Hammonton First, it has become obvious that there is a large group within this political party who feel the same way. This statement goes directly against the mantra of their party as stated on their website...

Hammonton First is made up of Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and people who have never been involved with politics.
