It has been reported that one of Hammonton's finest, Corporal Frank Lopez passed away suddenly. He was a fine officer who represented the Hammonton Police force well and served the Hammonton community with distinction. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be sorely missed and will be hard to replace.
Frank was a great guy, always happy and a good person. I just hope that HF don't try to capitalize on this tragedy to get elected like they have done in the past. A few years ago they used a young girls death to get elected and promised everyone a skate park. HF leave this family alone and let this town grieve in peace.
No political party should use the misfortune of another for political gain. Oh that's right, Maria Brita (Republican) used it in the Pete Hagarty situation !!! when she addressed Mayor & Council, wearing her H.P.D. sweatshirt !!! Oh, and again, she used the misfortune of a co-worker from Kessler (JoAnn DeFelice) during JoAnn's fundraiser for her medical expenses !!!

Brita had a decent letter in the paper but Why does she say that she's confused. Everyone knows what's going yet this candidate says she's confused by what HF is saying. She should be outraged by HF not confused by them. If elected she'll just sit on town council and be confused by what HF tries to push through and she'll vote like her fellow Republicans have done when on council and vote with HF almost all the time.

That's why you can't vote for HF republicans or regular republicans they are one of the same! I heard mayor and council might rescind the layoffs tonight to try and show the people that the town is in great financial shape. The excuse that they are trying to reduce government doesn't fly since the school didn't lay off. Should be interesting to see what they do. If they don't recall the employees no matter what they say doesn't make a difference financially secure businesses don't lay off so why would the town unless they are broke? Oh well the next few months should be very interesting......
I hear at the council meeting tonight HF is going to tell everyone they are in great financial shape... but they had to layoff employees because of the financial crises affecting the country, but yet they hired 18 people during the hiring freeze and are over budget on all projects and gave solicitor BH a $10,000 a year raise. I think HF is confusing themselves they don't know what they are saying because they keep contradicting themselves. The town is broke that's why they laid off and the school isn't that's why they didn't lay off. It's that simple. Don't believe the excuse they wanted to cut gov't to help the taxpayers. If you go to the council meeting wear your boots cause I'm sure it will get deep.
Will the Mayor close town hall so the employee's can go to the services? Or will the town employees go on the taxpayers dime like they always do? The police officers should be allowed to go on the town's time but not the rest of the employees.
