How can anyone vote for HF? Those people have no idea what real life is all about. When was the first or last time they had to clean their house, mow their lawn, wash the car, struggle to pay their bills, know what it's like to skip a meal, drive a car that's 10 years old? These people have no idea the needs or concerns of the average taxpayer that is why they borrowed so much money and put our town 45 million dollars in debt. They will be able to afford a tax increase because the money they have saved the last 4 years they probably invested and made a ton of money on it at our expense. No tax increase benefited them more than us. I find it hard to support people who think they are better than me just because they inherited money. This is how I feel and I'm sure others feel the same way but are to afraid to say anything.

Council meeting was very interesting, HF did a lot of dancing. The part I liked is when the Mayor said we have a 10 million dollar surplus but looked down the whole time he talked which means he is lying. When someone talks and looks down that means they are not telling the truth. Everything is a joke with them. I can't believe we pay the assistant town clerk $70,000. a year just to say no smoking in town hall - once a month. What does she actually do? and why does the town clerk need an assistant when she makes $127,000 a year with no college degree? I thought HF wanted a smaller gov't? I guess they lied about that too.

I would like to give a quick shout out to all the water and sewer users in Hammonton for keeping out taxes low.
If it wasn't for you paying your bills on time HF wouldn't have any place to recycle their monies.
By the way shouldn't the mayor be paying attention to the meeting instead of reading his text messages?

Hammonton First keeps the taxes too low. The extra money I have in my own pocket can get me a banana split at Royal Crown.

Why are the Democrats trying to ruin the small businesses in town by trying to bribe the voters with free ice cream. This ploy makes me sick to my stomach. Trying to get votes by giving out "FREE" ice cream.

My Friends nothing in Hammonton is free.

HF gave me rotten veggies and my taxes have not gone up in 4 years. this is outrageous.

Why all the negativity over ice cream?  People joke about the vegetables HF gives away because many times the vegetables are actually rotten.  I've gotten rotten vegetables every single year so I'm sure half the other people that say they got rotten vegetables are telling the truth.  All 3 parties give free stuff.  It's just that HF gives out rotten vegetables many many times.

Maybe the Democrats ice cream will taste better than HF's rotted veggies. Notice HF is not giving away too many free dinners this year. Why? they already ate the food themselves?

I watched last nights council meeting and the entire meeting was a big show they should give themselves academy awards - they remind me of the board members of Kessler every week they were giving each other some kind of award and we see where Kessler is today. Those awards meant nothing! What has me concerned is that when they wanted to build town hall on 11th and Washington Sts. the site was contaminated. The town never cleaned it up which means it is still contaminated and they want to put a skate park on it and have kids play in a contaminated skate park near railroad tracks? What insurance company would insure such a hazardous site? I think the park should be at Boyer Ave. because it is a safe environment. That is if HF really cares.

Chris Christie is exactly what we need in New Jersey. After the Wall Street wizard, Jon Corzine, bankrupted our state, Chris Christie can start by cleaning out the corruption running rampant in Trenton, NJ.

As a life long Democrat, I supported John McCain over Barrack Obama. I will also support Chris Christie over Jon "the $600,000,000 million dollar thief" Corzine.

How can I change my party affiliation from Democrat to Republican?

You don't need to change party affiliation to vote.  FYI, you can choose which candidates you like regardless of party for each position.  Just look at the instructions on the sample ballot you'll get in the mail.  Just do what you did last election.  If you really want to change party affiliation then just refill a voter registration application.  You can use this form also for a name change, address change as well.  Registration updates are pursuant to R.S. 19:34-1

Don't you love this website. It's filled filled with a lot of honest direct answers and information for voters.  That's why I'm voting for Mento, Ingemi, Ammirato, Scarpato and Villani.  Hopefully all Hammontonians exercise their right to vote and be informed.

Bad news guys,

Corzine didn't bankrupt the state.  Many years ago, someone named Whitman left office with the state in $5 Billion of debt.  McGreevey didn't do much to help however.  The problems facing NJ are not problems caused by Corzine.  He's been trying to solve other governor's problems for 4 years now.

FYI why would we want a criminal as our Governor? He has committed more crimes and violations than the people he indicted. He is a crooked politician. We have enough corruption in Hammonton we don't need more in Trenton. It's obvious you are a firster if you are supporting Christie since you have a lot in common.

Joe 's talking at the meeting really looked bad .  the mayor had all the answers. joe says downtown is bad ,brings up a rent thing that never happened from two years ago.  then attacks the independent audit saying it is wrong.  Says the bond rating is no big deal.    Wow go back to west piont.   The town has over 11 mil in the bank. bond rating AA .   Oh I did i mention no new taxes in four years.

By the way Joe i like the ice cream ideal.  But your party screamed and cried about another party giving out free food, and then you do it.

your party bashes downtown all the time , but then opens headquaters downtown.

Joe also brought up the airport investigations and subpoenas...is that bashing too?  The Mayor did not have much to say there.

No wonder they hide behind their bags of vegetables.

FYI the 10 million dollar reserve was the town's account balance just after taxes were collected. Actually we are broke... there is no reserve. If the town borrows any more money we will lose the AA bond rating because the upgrading of the rating was based on the town's promise that they would not borrow any more money for the next two years. This is why they did not borrow the 2.3 million for the Route 54 work because they know it will lower the bond rating before the election. As anyone with even low intelligence realizes, when a company lays off employees they are in a financial crises. In the history of Hammonton NO town employee has ever had to be laid off!!! There is an old saying that actions speak louder than words, if HF truly had 10 million in reserve why would it be necessary to lay off employees? Next time think before you speak.

Joe 's talking at the meeting really looked bad .  Joe looked good. He was calm and collected and never got rattled like the Mayor and Eddie did.

the mayor had all the answers. If the Mayor had all the answers, how come he didn't provide any at the meeting. He just danced around all the questions and kept changing the subject.

joe says downtown is bad Joe never said any such thing
brings up a rent thing that never happened from two years ago. That was an item in the budget that Mayor and council provided to Joe and it was from the current budget.

then attacks the independent audit saying it is wrong. He did not say the audit was wrong. He was using the budget to back up his point.
Says the bond rating is no big deal. He said the bond rating was a very big deal and he was concerned that Mayor & Council were jeopardizing our rating with their current actions that were contrary to the information they supplied to S&P to obtain the AA rating

Wow go back to west piont. Wow, listen to what was said, and report the truth.

The town has over 11 mil in the bank. bond rating AA . On a cash basis at the end of the calendar year. Not based on the real figures at the end of our fiscal year.

Oh I did i mention no new taxes in four years. Many times

By the way Joe i like the ice cream ideal.  But your party screamed and cried about another party giving out free food, and then you do it. Our party has never said a thing about your famous vegetable bags

your party bashes downtown all the time , but then opens headquaters downtown. What a ridiculous statement. The downtown is part of the lifeblood of this community and is a great asset. While we may not agree with the tactics taken by the present Mayor & Council about the downtown, we all agree how important it is to Hammonton

Your group accuses the Dems of bashing when all we have done is put out a very positive platform and asked some very important questions. You respond with lies and inuendos, I would call that bashing.

And don't forget, with $500,000, HF took from the sewer to use for operations, we now have to bond for sewer improvements to Route 54!!!!

Three cheers for the HF toilet tax!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Democrats opened a headquarters downtown to help try to clean out some of the rats! As far as our lifeblood are you for real? If that is the case we are on life support and not expected to make it. Just remember figures don't lie except when liars do the figures. We are broke honey and that's the truth - just ask the town's administrator who had to lay off 4 workers because there is no money!

Do the Democrats have a prefered location for the phone booth they use to meet in?

Why do you think the only phone booth in town is right next to town hall?

You are right the democrats know how to save money and know how not to be so extravagant with taxpayers money. I know it's hard for you to deal with the fact that everything you do is a failure. You keep spending our hard earned tax dollars down town and it hasn't changed a thing. It's a waste of money get over it - it's not your town it's ours and we don't care about downtown. Get with the times we go to the mall and shop because there are no stores down town to shop in!! Wake up and don't forget to take your medicine.
