Letter of support for Sam Mento, Democratic Candidate for 5th District Freeholder
Permalink

I have known the Mento family for 50 years and can tell you that they exemplify the same values of hard work and moral character we want in all of our community leaders.

In fact, I first met Sam Mento III -- who is running for Atlantic County freeholder in the Fifth District -- when he walked into my fifth-grade classroom almost 30 years ago.

Even then, I knew that because Sam demanded so much of himself, he would accomplish many things throughout his life.

I have watched him succeed in everything he has tackled, from starting his own blueberry farm to civic involvement and leadership in a variety of local organizations. I am even proud to call him brother as a fellow member of the M.B. Taylor Lodge.

Like another Masonic brother, Ralph Fichetola, I know Sam will be a responsive leader to all constituencies, regardless of political affiliation.

Sam Mento is a self-motivated, hard working and highly principled individual who will make the right decisions for Hammonton on the Atlantic County Board of Chosen Freeholders. So I respectfully request that you vote for Sam Mento III on Nov. 3.

Jack Vaughn maybe a nice man but I am no fan of Sam Mento. I have seen him in action and he is very hot headed and abrasive. I will be supporting Jim Curcio over Sammy Mento. We do not need the Democrats having another yes man viting for high taxes and bloated government.

I'm voting for Same Mento he is a great guy and he is not invisible like Curcio. You are confused again. Curcio is the one who wanted jobs cut and taxes raised. Sam will be for the people because he is one of us. Curio is the hot head I guess you forget what happened at the lake. It's funny because you always criticize others when the actions are of the people you support. You are so confused and wrong. Maybe you need to carry a video camera with you so you can see what is really going on and it will help with your short term memory. GO SAM GO

I agree with Jack Vaughn.  I am a Republican who votes for the individual.  Sam Mento will represent all the people of the fifth district.  Jimmy takes three pensions from the tax payers.  Sam Mento will defer his pension, he wants to serve the people not line his pockets with tax payer money.

Talk about a hot head, go to Utube and see Curios melt down at Hammonton's town council meeting.  He went ballistic when charges were filed against him.  He took a big contribution from a waste managment company, then refused to prosecute that company/donor for dumping toxic debri in Mullica.
  KEEP MULLICA GREEN!           DUMP CURCIO!!!!!!!!

Sam Mento will win!  Tax and spend double dipping do nothing Freeloader jimmy is finished, and he knows it.  He can read the signs, and a tracking poll has Mento ahead and his lead is growing.  With all the Republican and independant  support on top of a committed Democratic base Mento has become the front runner.

I have felt we need a change in Hammonton.  I know Sam from t-ball.  He seems to be a nice guy.  When I read Jack Vaughn's letter today it sealed the deal.  When Mr Vaughn crosses party lines to endorse a candidate it really says alot about Sam Mento.  I will follow Jack Vaughn acros party lines and vote for Sam Mento for Freeholder on Nov. 3rd.

Has Sam Mento investigated the amount of money being gobbled up by his out of county advisors?

Mullica Green = more money in the hands of the Camden Democratic party bosses.
Why is Sam Mento being financed by out of county people?

He has been asked to do a FOOL's TASK and the Hammonton people will not surrender it's power to Democrats in Atlantic City or Camden.

Look again!! Sam Mento is being funded by a huge number of individual donors from within Atlantic County. He has gotten great support. Just look at the reports on the NJ Elect commission website to see that this is true.

Jim Curcio and the Republicans in Atlantic County spend our tax money very wisely and carefully.

Compare Atlantic County to any Democratic controlled county in New Jersey and see how much more tax money is gobbled up by Democratic political appointees, no show jobs, and wasted money on silly lawsuits.

Little Sammy Mento, no thanks..........Jim Curcio all the way.

jimmy, you were so happy to get rid of good republicans like Gormley, Blee and other great fundraiers that the chickens have now come home to roost on you, who can't raise enough to pay for a campaign that even makes sense. Its  ashame that you ruined the republican party not only in the county but at home also. When you lose on election day please go away.

Mento has another big fund raiser coming up at the wine bar.  Stop by and see all the Atlantic County residents who are backing him.  Mr Vaughn is backing a winner.  Good bye to the tax and spend double dipper.  Jimmy should have returned a few calls during his fifteen years.  Sam is a campaigning machine.  With over 2000 doors hit he is a sure thing.  GO SAM GO!

Does Jim Schroeder or his sister Beth Buonsante have the heart to show little Sammy Mento the latest polling data against Freeholder Chairman Jim Curcio? These two money grubbers from Atlantic City should raise another $15,000 for little Sammy Mento.

Is Sammy allowed to look at the polling data or does the Democratic Chairman keep that information to himself? The polling numbers against Sam Mento in EHT are impossible for him to overcome.

Jim Curcio does deserve credit for standing up to his own party leaders when they are wrong. His independent tough streak does make some party leaders upset but Curcio always stands up for Hammonton and the western end of the county.

I like a leader that does not always want to kiss up follow the party bosses. Too many democrats just want to kiss ass and walk away with a big patronage job. Look at all of those Mullica "Green in my own pocket" characters.

Hey stupid EHT is not in Mento's district.  If you mean EHC where Sam's mother was born and raised, then you know Mento is up by over 10 points.  Read the AC press next week, you will see the independant poll numbers.  Mento is up big!

Bye Bye Jimmy double dipper don't let the door hit you in the a$$

Jack Vaughn is a great American hero.  I loved his letter this week.  I know the Mento family and I agree, with Jack we need to put working class people on the Freeholder Board.

Go Sam.  It took courage to take on the fifteen year incumbent.  Now it seems that all your hard work and positive message is paying off.  Keep working hard you are going to win this thing!

I think it is great that Hammontonians realize that we need to change our representation at the Freeholder Board.  Sam Mento, like Jack Vaughn said "will make the right decisions for Hammonton and the western portion of the county."
Jimmy had a nice run but, it is time for a change.

Sam Mento should have told Jim Whelan and his gang of tax gobblers, No!!!!

They led Mento down a rosy path then pull the rug out from under him. Why would Hammonton give up the Freeholder Chairman under GOP leadership? Doesn't Mento have anyone local advising him or does he just depend on the outside consultants?

Jim Curcio stood up to Bill Gormley when he had a good reason. Just because Curcio is tough and independent enough to stand up to party bosses, like Gormley, how would that possibly hurt him.

Jim Curcio was correct when Bill Gormley tried to push the trash tax down our throats. Curcio said the tax was illegal and stop us all from getting another tax bill. Standing up to party bosses when they are wrong should be encouraged not discouraged.

If more Democrats would stand up to Jon Corzine and the party bosses, our taxes and state would be in much better shape. I will continue to support Jim Curcio because it benefits my wallet.

Keep kidding yourself.  It sounds like the Curio camp is jealous that the Mento for Freeholder campaign has a legitimate organization.  And, for the record the Atlantic County Campaign manager Mitch Seim's father lives in Hammonton.  John Brigandi is from Hamm.  Matt Brimm is from Folsom.  Beth Schroder is from Mullica.  Mento has more people working for his campaign the jimmy had at his fund raiser.  Good bye to the tax and spend double dipper.

I can't believe the Mayor closed town hall offices today. I thought he cared about the taxpayers and how he didn't want to inconvenience them. Why were town hall offices closed today? Did they have to send workers home because they don't have the money to pay them?  I guess the Mayor is giving up on the taxpayers he will be gone soon and he doesn't care anymore.

Either the town is broke, and/or there's something wrong with the building that required the town hall to vacated, and/or on Monday people are getting pink slips.
