AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center announced plans today to move its emergency room, wound treatment center and medical imaging operations from the former Kessler Memorial Hospital property to a new facility on Route 30.
The regional health care company will break ground in 2010 on a 39,000-square-foot building on 14 acres at 219 White Horse Pike. AtlantiCare estimates the facility will cost $20.6 million.
Kessler Memorial Hospital closed in March after declaring bankruptcy. Soon after, AtlantiCare leased the building and established a emergency room there. The lease is up in March.
I smell something fishy! Who owned the Ranere Estate? Who sold it to Atlantic Care let me guess a HF person! Wow I guess they just decided to do this after the election, boy they move fast. If Kessler went bankrupt because of the charity care in this town.... so they say - why would Atlantic Care invest 20 million and face the same problem? Makes you wonder huh? Oh and the Kessler property who will benefit from it's sale and who will be buying it to make a profit? Why didn't all this come out before the election since everyone was so made that Kessler closed? I had a bad experience with Atlantic Care hospital in Atlantic City. There emergency room was great but the stay was absolutely horrible, very unprofessional and uncaring!!!!!!!!!! I would have rather seen Virtua or Cooper come to Hammonton like they wanted to but the Kessler Board refused to sell to them WHY WHY WHY! There are many hidden agenda's to this story but I smell greed, money and profit to a certain few at our expense our town will burn in hell for this.

Remember that the mayor told people to stop asking questions and to just put up lawn signs. The people who truly supported the hospital were misled... repeatedly. Will the truth ever come out, probably not. From the very moment the mayor had that first public meeting about Kessler, I knew something was extremely fishy. I am not surprised at all at what happened.

I think Kessler's board members are in on the deal to build condo's where the hospital is. Let's watch it play out and you will see that they will still make money from Kessler closing and these people go to church? Amazing how heartless, selfish and greedy these people can be. How much money do they want? Will they ever have enough money? They are addicted to money.
Does anyone really care what happens to the old Kessler Hospital building? What I am very happy to see is a new medical facility in Hammonton that can take care of Hammonton and the surrounding areas.
Alanticare will most likely do very well by investing in Hammonton. Hammonton's location is ideal for Winslow Township, Waterford, Mullica, Buena and Hammonton. The new hospital facility is a blessing for Hammonton.

Hammonton taxpayers DO CARE what happens to Kessler. There have been several meetings in town hall about it. Why SHOULDN'T we care. Lots of the equipment were donated by local organizations and citizens. I feel as if I've been repeatedly lied to by the Board at Kessler. They are hoping that we just say Forget About It! GREED Killed Kessler. Let's see who benefited from this GREED.
You are so right! Atlantic Care didn't come here for the people of Hammonton. This deal was based on greed and only greed. 9:11 you have no clue - take off your blinders. Two big hospitals wanted to buy Kessler over a year ago and Kessler turned them down because the board had other ideas for that ground that will make them money. Many local people donated a lot of time and money to Kessler hospital. Not only that did they think of all the employees who would lose their jobs because of their greed NO! They only cared about themselves and money in their pocket. The rich get richer and the poor will get poorer in this town. There moto is "let them ear cake" only we would have to buy it downtown. Money is the root of all evil - living in Hammonton is like living in hell!
Who cares about what happens to the hospital now? AtlanticCare is now here for medical assistance and Kessler can fade into the dust. Didn't you see the broker's name on the sale sign? That should tell you something about who will profit. The same people who profit from everything else in town.
