Every other town is bracing for it. Not in Hammonton...we are pressing forward with the multi-million dollar Stockton deal, hiring a housing consultant, and hiring a lobbyist and continuing non-grant supported work at the Lake. I am just waiting to hear more about the restaurant at the airport.
We are not even heeding the Guv's advice to be truthful with the public. We have not even said anything about the budget. No budget worshops like other towns, no announcements.
Well, maybe to his credit Steve "It will be alright" DiDonato is exchanging his promise of open and honest government to spare us the reality of the budget crisis.
Or maybe we are seceding from NJ so the Guv's points are moot.
The federal, state and county governments are cutting aid to all towns except Hammonton, we are special. We are the only town that will receive grant money, according to the Gazette. Ha! Since we have an over abundance of money will our Mayor buy a town yacht and dock it at the Canoe Club? Since we are spending millions to renovate our airport that no one uses maybe Hammonton will buy and Airforce three for our Mayor and Council so they can attend important meetings. Ha! This saga keeps getting better and better. I wouldn't put anything past them because they think they are the greatest. They are legends in their own minds.
If It's All Good, why would the Federal Gov't look to bailout Hammonton from any "possible" woes. Everything we do is on time, on budget and made open to the public according to HF.
Or maybe as Steve "Open and Honest Government" DiDonato is allegedly fond of saying," We'll kick the can further down the road."
That's there motto keep ignoring all the problems and keep saying it's all good and the problems will go away and the people will believe everything we tell them. I can't wait till the crap hits the fan. Not sure what they will say then.
