It seems that honest and open government are out of style (assuming they were ever in style in Hammonton). In March 2009, John DiDonato presented his budget at the Council meeting. And the Council passed as resolution to introduce the budget at the next meeting.
This year, no mention of the 2010 budget on the agenda. There is only closed-session discussion of furloughs and lay-offs. Ironically, it seems every other town in the County has been discussing their budgets with the public and they are not even led by groups as all-knowing as HF.
What surprises does Mayor Steve have in store for us this year? Is the can getting harder to kick down the road?
Is it true they are doing both layoffs and furloughs? I just hope they are smart enough to cut the salaries of the high paid employees and get rid of the ones who do nothing.
