Governor Christie release the state aid to municipalities figures this afternoon. Hammonton is taking a 20% reduction in aid from the state this year. That equals a $326,278 cut in aid to our town. That's going to make things real tough for the upcoming budget. In a statement from the Department of Community Affairs: Governor Christie and I recognize that municipal governments are facing decreased revenue and fewer resources in this tough economy, but, as the Governor has stated, difficult times call for shared sacrifice and we are asking local communities to do their part, acting Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Lori Grifa said in a statement. We are also encouraging local governments to conduct the same rigorous reviews of services and programs that Governor Christie is performing at the state level.
We have been promised no tax increase. Let's see how that is accomplished.
Cut the staff , cut the police , cut the highway department, its all good. where is the 10million dollar surplus John said we had. Why do they lie, maybe we should ask for an investigation of where our money has gone.
Where do you think all the money went? Just look and see who's living the good life. The taxpayers of Hammonton would rather live in the streets before they publicly question HF. So hey, if everyone is afraid to ask questions and demand answers then let them suffer!
No I don't hate them or anyone else for that matter. But I get tired of hearing them constantly complain about everything that is going on in this town and how unhappy they are. So if they refuse to complain to the people that created this mess then they should keep their mouth shut and continue to suffer.
