TOPIC: Atlantic County Freeholder Chairman Jim Curcio charged with suspicion of drunken driving in Hamilton Township
The Press of Atlantic City today reports that Hammonton native, Atlantic County Freeholder chairman and candidate for Atlantic County Surrogate, Jim Curcio was arrested on Saturday night for suspicion of DWI. He reportedly refused a breathalyzer test. "I made a terrible mistake, and I'm going to have to, of course, address it through the proper channels in court," Curcio said Sunday night. "I'm not guilty of everything I was charged with, but I did use very poor judgment. I should not have been driving."
Curcio currently holds, at latest count, 6 taxpayer funded jobs. Some of those jobs involve him prosecuting drunk drivers. We shall see how this plays out and if it has an effect on his run for Surrogate.
